It was fun to sew it together and my son loved it! Actually burlap would be so appropriate to use for gifts from Santa;)
I am not the best seamstress, as you'll see... I'm sure you could do a way better job, but here a few pictures!
Just a few stitches ought to do it:)
Here is a really simple stitch
And on the front I stitched his name. I love that it looks like a heart because I love him so much!
If you are better at stitching than me you could make it up really fancy and personalize it, or just keep it simple. And when you are done you can just take the stitches out. Hey, maybe your kid might even find it a little fun to do himself.
You don't always have to sew fabric
For my littlest one, whose birthday was the very next day, I just used some fabric I had around. Because it was just a plastic tube, I lightly taped it to the bottom, on the overlap and tied a bow around the top. She pulled it off like she already knew what to do!
If you don't have fabric just lying around, just check the clearance bin at Walmart or your local craft store. Sometimes you can find a yard or two for just a few bucks in their clearance baskets.
Reduce, Reuse and Recycle:)
*If you do use wrapping paper check your local recycling guidelines. Some places don't accept wrapping paper in their recycling bins. Ours didn't when we lived in LA.
